Summary

Position: Captain and DECK/Steward/ess TEAM- American flagged (Ideally American but can hire non-US crew for this position as well).


This is a very active program. The family and crew do most everything together. Eating, cooking, hiking, activities, etc. It is a dry boat so best for a crewmember that enjoys a healthy lifestyle. A glass of wine at dinner is acceptable. 


Full time - New England / Maine for the summer, Caribbean (Antigua, Southern Bahamas) Spring

Location: Newport RI (yard) 

 

Start date: SOON Open to start date. Could be as early as January and up to March for start date.


Itinerary: Newport, RI yard, heading to Antigua in March/April, cruising Caribbean and S. Bahamas, back up to NY - June/July, New England - August and Maine (September).  


License Required: YM 200, USCG 100gt+.

 

Requirements: 

STCW

ENG1 or current fit for duty marine medical (valid for 6 months+)

US Passport/Green card Ideally - valid minimum 1 year OR B1/B2 visa (valid for min. 1 year)

Light to Non drinkers are preferred as this is a DRY boat.

Happy, fun, active and enjoys a family style program. You are treated like one of the family. 

Some sailing is a plus as they have a sailing tender.


  

Captain: at least 3 years experience as a captain

Deck maintenance experience.

Engineering maintenance (it is only 1 year old so still lots under warranty) Experience with warranty issues is a plus.

Safety/Navigation

Experience in New England, Maine, Caribbean, S. Bahamas


Interior/Deck: Just some experience cleaning, laundry.

some cooking skills are nice but not a requirement - Everyone pitches in including the owners and captain.

Job Specifics: You will share a bunk room. There is a small crew galley as well.

 

The family spends quite a bit of time on board. They are very active and many times you go along on hikes, etc. Everyone eats family style together. They all eat out a lot as well.


Salary range: Within yachting salary guidelines depending on experience. 

 

Package: Medical coverage, flights to and from the vessel, etc. to be finalized during interview process.
