Key Responsibilities
- Menu Development
- Design and execute creative menus that showcase a variety of cuisines, seasonal ingredients, and local specialties.
- Cater to diverse guest preferences, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
- Kitchen Leadership
- Supervise and inspire a small team of kitchen staff, ensuring smooth coordination and a positive work environment.
- Train and mentor new team members, promoting best practices in culinary preparation and plating.
- Quality Control & Food Safety
- Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Enforce strict compliance with HACCP principles and other relevant health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management
- Manage inventory effectively, ensuring optimal stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Coordinate with suppliers and provisioning teams to acquire fresh, high-quality products.
- Budgeting & Cost Control
- Work within budget guidelines to optimize resources without compromising on quality.
- Track food costs and implement cost-saving measures where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a senior culinary role, ideally as a Head Chef or Executive Chef.
- Formal Culinary Training: Diploma or degree from a recognized culinary school or equivalent experience.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills to manage, motivate, and guide kitchen staff.
- Creative & Adaptable: Innovative approach to menu creation; ability to adapt dishes to suit guest preferences and dietary requirements.
- Organization & Time Management: Capable of prioritizing tasks and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Maritime Experience (Preferred): Experience working on yachts, cruise ships, or other maritime operations is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
