FF&E DESIGNER – LUXURY YACHT DESIGN

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced FF&E Designer to join one of the world’s most inspiring and prestigious yacht design studios. This role is ideal for a creative and highly skilled individual with a passion for high-end interiors, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to deliver outstanding design solutions for some of the most exclusive yachts globally.

The FF&E Designer will take ownership of the furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) aspect of projects, working closely with the Project Director, Head of Interiors, and Project Manager to ensure seamless project execution. The role requires a balance of creative vision, technical expertise, and strong project management skills to ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to an uncompromising standard.

This position will involve close collaboration with internal design teams, external suppliers, shipyards, and high-net-worth clients. International travel is an essential part of the role, requiring a designer with the confidence and experience to represent the studio at client meetings, shipyard visits, and industry events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the FF&E elements of ultra-luxury yacht projects, ensuring all designs align with the client’s vision and the studio’s commitment to excellence.Develop and curate unique, high-end FF&E schemes, working closely with clients, shipyards, and industry-leading suppliers.Manage the entire FF&E design process from concept to completion, ensuring that design integrity and quality are upheld at every stage.Work collaboratively with the Interior Design team, Procurement Manager, and Project Managers to maintain project timelines, budgets, and seamless integration of FF&E.Oversee the sourcing, selection, and specification of furniture, materials, finishes, and accessories, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and the highest quality standards.Confidently present concepts and design proposals to clients, shipyard representatives, and project stakeholders.Provide clear and structured design documentation, specifications, and procurement schedules to facilitate smooth execution.Conduct site visits to shipyards, overseeing installation and quality control to ensure the final execution aligns with the original design intent.Maintain strong relationships with world-class suppliers, artisans, and fabric houses to ensure continuous innovation and exclusivity in FF&E selections.Mentor and guide junior FF&E team members, fostering a culture of design excellence and innovation.Champion sustainable and ethical design practices, ensuring environmentally responsible sourcing and materials wherever possible.Stay ahead of industry trends by attending leading design fairs, networking with suppliers, and continuously evolving the studio’s FF&E library.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:3–5+ years of experience in luxury yacht or ultra-high-end residential FF&E design.A strong creative vision with an impeccable eye for detail and an ability to curate truly unique, luxury interiors.Deep knowledge of high-end materials, finishes, bespoke furniture, and suppliers within the UK and internationally.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met without compromising on quality.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to present and liaise with ultra-high-net-worth clients, shipyards, and suppliers.Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, MS Office, and Excel.A proactive, solution-driven mindset with the ability to identify potential risks and problem-solve effectively.Passionate about sustainable and innovative FF&E solutions, with a strong awareness of environmental impact in luxury design.Exceptional organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.Flexibility to travel internationally as required.
