HANDS-ON HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER & PERSONAL ASSISTANT – CHIEF STEWARDESS ASHORE POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is filled by a highly capable and dedicated individual who operates as a Chief Stewardess ashore, overseeing the seamless running of a private household while providing hands-on housekeeping, service, and personal assistance to the principals. This is a physically active role requiring a high level of attention to detail, discretion, and flexibility. In addition to managing household operations and staff, the position requires direct involvement in cleaning, organizing, serving, and assisting – ensuring the home functions to the highest standards at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Housekeeping & Household Standards • Personally responsible for maintaining immaculate standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the residence. • Daily hands-on cleaning, tidying, and overseeing the finer details of household presentation. • Managing laundry, wardrobe care, and delicate fabrics with the utmost attention to detail. • Organizing storage spaces, ensuring stock levels of cleaning products and household essentials. • Overseeing and performing high-standard turn-down and room setup for the principals and guests. 2. Service & Lifestyle Support • Providing high-level personal service, including meal service and beverage preparation when required. • Assisting with wardrobe organization, packing, and unpacking for travel. • Managing table settings and ensuring impeccable presentation for private dinners or gatherings. • Running errands, making reservations, and liaising with external service providers. 3. Household & Travel Logistics • Ensuring continuity of household operations across multiple residences. • Accompanying the principals on travel, overseeing household setup in different locations. • Managing luggage, unpacking, and ensuring all personal items are readily available when traveling. • Liaising with hotel staff, villa managers, and travel coordinators to ensure a seamless experience. 4. Direct Interaction with the Principal • The employee will, at times, deal directly with the principal on any element required, whether personal, household, or service-related. • They must be adaptable, proactive, and make themselves available as required to respond to requests efficiently and discreetly. • They should anticipate needs, act with absolute discretion, and provide a seamless level of support as expected in a five-star service environment.
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES & SKILLS • Hands-on mentality – this is not just a managerial role; active cleaning and service are key aspects of the position. • A strong background in yachting or private household service, preferably as a Chief Stewardess transitioning ashore. • Exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and ability to anticipate needs. • Physical stamina to manage daily cleaning tasks alongside managerial responsibilities. • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, able to adapt to changing circumstances. • Flexibility to travel and maintain high household standards in different locations. • Fluent in English; additional languages are beneficial
