The Pacific Jemm, a 24m luxury charter motor yacht, has been refitted and upgraded, ready for a new era of operation on Lake Wakatipu. We’re looking for a hands-on, business-minded Captain who will run this vessel as their own operation—from maintenance and guest experience to charter bookings, cleaning, and marketing.
This is not a sit-back-and-supervise role—you will be on the tools daily, ensuring the yacht is always in top condition and that every charter runs smoothly. If you have the drive, experience, and passion to take ownership of a premium charter operation, this is your opportunity.
The Role
This position requires a high level of involvement in every aspect of the yacht’s operation. You will be:
* At the helm during all charters, providing a safe, enjoyable experience for guests
* Handling daily maintenance, cleaning, and engineering tasks to keep the yacht in top shape
* Managing guest relations—from charter inquiries to delivering a first-class service on board
* Marketing & promoting the yacht, working closely with management to grow bookings
* Training and leading crew for charter support while taking full responsibility for operations
* Managing compliance, safety, and logistics to ensure smooth day-to-day running
Who We’re Looking For
An experienced and hands-on Captain with a strong work ethic—this is a role where you do it all.
Qualifications:
* Skipper Restricted Limits (SRL) with 24m & Passenger Endorsement, or equivalent ILM certification
* Valid First Aid & Medical Certificate
* Full NZ Driver’s License
* Must be able to work in NZ
* Physically fit & proactive—this is a hands-on role that requires energy and problem-solving
* A natural host—able to engage with high-end clients while also running all technical aspects
* Business-minded—comfortable taking responsibility for bookings, sales, and guest experience
* Local Knowledge (preferred) – Familiarity with Queenstown & Lake Wakatipu
