In a captain: I’m looking for someone with enough experience in chartering to run the current charters. Absolutely needs to be hands on with the engineering side of things. I would be expecting him to be maintaining the boat. Understanding Spanish is not a must but a plus as is knowing how to manage a budget and the books is a plus. I need easy going and flexible to be able to multi task as necessary. Runs with a reasonable but conscious budget.
Expected amount of crew: 3 full time. I’m currently looking for full time Captain/engineer and Stew/mate or preferably chef/stew. A couple/team would be fine that are ether a couple or coming together as 2 singles is ok. I would expect in times of charter we will add a chief maybe a mate
About the owner: A long time boater - used to running and maintaining boats up to 70'. A solid long term marriage with two adult children and a dog. Describes themselves as relaxed, fun people.
Usage: We would plan to have the boat north mid-June till October. Basically, boating ends for us in the north mid-September and the boat would head south in October. It would be a good time for crew to unwind. We would like to come down to Florida and stay on the boat for a week or maybe 2 times a year then schedule some Bahamas cruising. This schedule is open now however I do see a lot of weeks when we won’t be around giving the crew much needed time off. 5-8 charters per year is expected.
Vessel description: 4 stateroom fly bridge motor yacht that has crews’ accommodations for 4 in 2 cabins with 6 heads.
With this we have 2 tenders that can be used, 27’ and a 13’ rib. We have 2 new jet skis for charters and 2 additional for the family and 2 sea bobs
Salary range: Within yachting salary guidelines depending on experience - Good in USD + charter tips and incentives.
Package: Medical coverage, flights to and from the vessel, paid leave, etc. to be finalized during interview process. Ideally paid on a 1099 to an LLC but this can be discussed.
Commercial Registered Yacht: no private under 500gt
