Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent leading to Rotational upon completion of Warranty period
Start Date: ASAP (prior to final outfitting & delivery)
We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Chief Engineer for a new construction 40m motor yacht operating under both private and commercial charter use. The vessel is in the final phase of construction and is due for delivery shortly. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing the yacht for active service and ensuring smooth technical operations year-round.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee technical aspects during final outfitting, commissioning, and sea trials
- Establish maintenance systems, planned maintenance schedules, and spare parts inventory
- Ensure all engineering systems (mechanical, electrical, AV/IT, HVAC) are fully operational and well-maintained
- Maintain engine room logs, safety systems, and ensure class/compliance documentation is up to date
- Work closely with the Captain and crew to support safe and efficient yacht operations
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Y4 CoC or equivalent (minimum)
- Experience as Chief or Sole Engineer on similar-sized vessels (35m–50m), ideally with charter experience
- Familiarity with MAN engines, modern AV/IT systems,
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills and hands-on work ethic
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities
- Valid STCW, ENG1, and up-to-date certificates
