Personal Valet – London
A long-standing client of Silver Swan Recruitment has returned to hire 2 x female valets to join their team in Knightsbridge. This is a busy but informal household with 3 children. You will be part of the service team working closely with the chef and housekeepers in keeping the house clean, organised and working efficiently.
This role is perfect for someone with yachting experience with good experience managing wardrobes, looking to transition to a land-based role. Or a recently qualified butler. High levels of attention to detail are essential and working well as a team is also very important.
This is lovely family where staff seem to stay. We have previously placed a number of members of staff in this team all of whom really enjoyed the role and recommends the family to others.
The role will involve travel – taking it in turns with the other valet, you will travel ahead of the family with their luggage to unpack and set up their wardrobes and personal belongings before they arrive. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and adaptability, especially to accommodate the employer’s busy and variable schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Wardrobe Management
- Organizing and maintaining the employer’s wardrobe.
- ?Ensuring all clothing is clean, pressed, and in excellent condition.
- ?Packing and unpacking luggage for trips, ensuring the employer has the appropriate attire for all occasions.
- ?Managing laundry and dry cleaning, ensuring garments are handled according to care labels.
Travel Assistance
- Preparing detailed travel kits with all necessary items, such as toiletries, medications, and accessories.
- Coordinating with travel staff or assistants to ensure smooth transitions during trips.
- Keeping track of travel schedules and ensuring all required items are ready on time.
- Travel ahead of the Principal to unpack and set up the accommodation accordingly.
Personal Grooming Support
- Assisting with dressing and grooming when required.
- Polishing shoes and maintaining accessories, such as watches, belts, and jewelry.
Organisation
- Maintaining the employer’s dressing room, wardrobe, and personal spaces in immaculate order.
- Keeping an inventory of clothing, accessories, and personal items.
- Organizing new purchases and ensuring old items are repaired, donated, or stored appropriately.
Errands and Personal Shopping
- Purchasing and restocking personal items, such as toiletries and wardrobe essentials.
- Running errands as requested, including picking up custom tailoring or special items.
Other Duties
- ?Coordinating with other household staff to ensure seamless service.
- Managing the employer’s preferences, such as garment folding techniques or specific travel habits.
- Discreetly handling personal and confidential matters for the employer.
- ?Ensuring all items are securely stored and valuables are protected while traveling.
Ideal Candidate
- UK citizen
- Yachting stewardess experience is advantageous
- Any formal butler training would be useful
- Confident in all aspects of service
- Fluent in English
