A 75M+ World Travelling Sailing Yacht is looking for a SECOND OFFICER to join their team!
This Yacht has a very exciting itinerary and has visited Alaska, Maine and Mexico in the past. Their current plan is to complete a Mediterranean summer with the potential of cruising the North West passage!
The candidate is due to join the vessel in a yard in Italy at the beginning of May, they are due to finish in the yard at the end of May so the first month of employment will include living ashore in crew accommodation.
We are looking for someone who has their OOW (or very close to completing it). The role will be predominantly Deck duties, however the vessel does travel a lot so there will be ample time to assist in the Bridge with passage planning etc as well as accumulate generous sea time.
Vessel: Private S.Y.
Contract: Full time & Permanent.
Gender: Male or Female (shared cabins).
Joining location: Italy.
Joining date: 1st week of May.
Minimum experience: 4-5 years in the Industry.
Must have Sailing experience and Jet Tender experience.
Crew: Total 15 (19 with rotation). 5 on Deck (Chief Officer, Second Officer, Deck Carpenter, 2 Deckhands).
Nationalities on board: Good mix (Brazilian, French, Caribbean, Canadian, American, South African, British) with incredible longevity amongst the HODs.
Visas: Schengen / hold a passport which allows entry into the EU.
Flights: 1 p.a.
The right candidate will be polite, respectful but also sociable, enthusiastic and keen to be a part of the team. The crew are often travelling to remote and interesting places and there is always time provided for them to explore so they spend a lot of time together and it is important the candidate is a team player.
