Chief Officer/1st Mate in Spain

Summary

We are looking for a professional and motivated Chief Officer/First Mate to join a 44.5m Private and Charter Sanlorenzo yacht under the Maltese flag, based in Mallorca.

This is a hands-on role, requiring excellent tender driving skills, maintenance knowledge, and the ability to lead a deck team effectively. Previous yacht experience is necessary to handle the winter deck jobs. Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude. Due to the size of the boat, it is required to help each other in all departments. The deck team consists of 3 crew: a First Mate, Lead deckhand (bosun), and Junior Deck/Assistant Engineer. The role will entail a large amount of time on deck.

OOW CoC and valid ECDIS certificate required

Minimum 3-5 years of yacht experience with solid knowledge of bridge procedures

Valid driving license

Fluent English required, additional languages are a plus

Entry Level Qualifications (or equivalent)

• STCW 95 (STCW 2010)
• ENG 1 (Medical Certificate)
• Drivers License

Master/Skipper Qualifications (or Merchant, USCG & AMSA equivalent)

• MCA Master <200gt / OOW <500gt

Specialised Security Courses

• Proficiency as Ship Security Officer (SSO) (A-VI/5)
