Crew Placement & Services
Crew placement and services is one of the most important departments for an onshore yacht team and are responsible for placing the right crew members with the right yachts. As well as recruiting crew members, crew placement and service roles involve interviewing candidates, checking that CVs and resumes are up to date and accurate, and making sure that all of the relevant documents and certificates are accessible.
Positions within crew placements and service teams include crew agents, employment and payroll administrators and crew assistants. Jobs can vary from day to day, but can include candidate screening, ensuring that the candidates have the right visas and tickets, and selecting candidates for specific roles within the yacht based on their skillsets.
Crew placement and service teams may also need to advise potential candidates on what skills, qualifications and visas they are likely to need for the specific job that they want.
Requirements
Experience within the sector and a working knowledge of yacht qualifications and job roles is critical for a job on the crew placement and service team, as you will be responsible for placing crew members with yachts.
Good communication and organisation is also needed, because not only will you be liaising with your team and yacht crews directly, you will also be communicating with candidates, conducting interviews and providing advice about skills, qualifications and any visas needed to become part of the crew.
