Deck/Engineer
Salary : EUR 2500 to EUR 3500 Per Month
This position is normally found on smaller vessels, where the role of the deckhand and junior engineer is combined. You will possess a variety of skills both deck and engineering orientated. You will normally be required to be a competent tender drive, ability to look after the upkeep of the exterior as well as carry out engine room checks and troubleshooting.
Qualifications, training and skills required
- Basic STCW safety training, including PSA or PDSD
- Powerboat Level II
- AEC, or land based Engineering qualification
- ENG1 Medical Fitness Certificate
- Knowledge of engine room systems such as diesel engines, hydraulics, fuel handling
- Fault finding and repairs
- Ability to manage, plan and execute work lists
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Tender driving skills
- Professional Appearance
- Good Attitude
Extra desired training
- Any prior on board experience in either the deck department or engine room would be advantageous.
- Background as a tradesman such as plumber, mechanical or electrical engineer
