Maritime Solicitor

The maritime solicitor lawyer role is critical to any business/ yacht. Their role functions to protect the yacht against the risk of litigation. They work closely with compliance teams to ensure the yacht is meeting minimum standards. Strong relationship and communication skills are important due to the solicitor working with several different teams in dispute cases. Individuals in these positions are expected to be effective negotiators and closers in settling matters. They are required to try and resolve matters effectively and minimise any risk to the Yacht owners/ business management reputation.

Qualifications, training and skills required

  • Degree in Law
  • Experience in marine industry
  • Knowledge of maritime law
  • 3 years+ PQE

Extra desired training

  • Knowledge of Tort Law
