Bembridge Sailing Club is an accredited RYA Training Centre, and became a Volvo Champion Club at the beginning of 2002. Situated towards the Eastern end of the Solent, the clubhouse sits nestled on the bank of Bembridge Harbour, taking full advantage of the shelter from the Point, which keeps the worst of the weather on the Solent side of the harbour. This makes the Club the perfect location to host an ever growing dinghy fleet and encourage less experienced and young sailors to get afloat. We support an active social programme of formal and informal dinners, talks, parties and dances throughout the year, and a varied training programme focused on developing young sailors’ sailing and racing capabilities. The Club sees a particularly vibrant summer season with regattas and courses drawing sailors from far and wide to the East Wight. Particularly popular fixtures in the programme are the Cadet Weeks, which enable our young members to gain RYA accredited qualifications while having a great time out on the water. Along with our range of youth sailing courses, BSC is also able to offer RYA powerboating courses, which are popular with young people and adults alike, and aside from all of this, there is a full race programme to keep Members busy too. The dinghy sailors are not the only people who benefit from residency at Bembridge Sailing Club, as there are also three keelboat fleets – we have an active Illusion fleet who benefit from the shelter of the harbour, sailing during the winter season between October and April. BSC is also host to a fleet of Bembridge One Designs and a fleet of Bembridge Redwings who sail at weekends between Easter and the end of September; and every day throughout August. The Club continues to invest in the development of its harbour side clubhouse and facilities to support a high standard of yachting and social activities.
