Blue Oceans is a new brand name, for an old company. Established in in 1982, Crew Unlimited was the first ever dedicated crew agency, established by Jude Rilling and Nord Pedersen, then bought by Captain Eddie Seesholts in 1986. In 1993, Captain Eddie fell ill, and gifted Crew Unlimited to Ami Ira, who had been working for him as a 'Girl Friday'. Ami, with only 1 year aboard yachts and a Fashion Design degree, gradually bought the company from his widow, finalizing in the summer of 1999, prior to opening in New Zealand for the millenneum America's Cup. In 2004, Crew Unlimited branched out into CU Yacht Charters, recognizing that it's the crew that makes the charter, and allowing guests to search for charter yachts by the crew who were currently working on board! In 2016, Crew Unlimited and C U Yacht Charters formed a shortlived partnership with a competing firm, and renamed to Bluewater USA for 4 and a half years, until the deal terms deteriorated and the partnership terminated. As a result, the beautiful Blue Oceans name and brand was born, from the need for a name that truly encompasses the full scope of our offerings. Blue Oceans also offers yacht brokerage, yacht management, and crew training, on top of our prior expertises, crew placement, charter management, and charter vacations.

This separation has allowed Blue Oceans to thrive and grow, while improving the quality and depth of their services within the yachting industry, ensuring Owners and Crew the Optimal Yachting Experience.
