In 2010 Challenge Wales became a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training Centre. Under the Challenge Wales Training Centre sailing qualifications can be undertaken by all ages including RYA Courses: Start Yachting, Competent Crew, Watch Leader, Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper. In 2011 Challenge Wales became an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme for Gold Residential section opportunities. In 2012, the charity became an associate member of ASTO (Association of Sail Training Organisations). In 2013, Challenge Wales won the ITV People's Millions Award.
