The North East Fishermen's Training Association (NEFTA) aims to become the main focal point for fishermen's training, development and information services in this nationally and strategically important area.

Our key aims include: •To provide and co-ordinate high quality training, development and certification to individuals and companies within the fishing industry. •To serve as an information and advisory point for the fishing industry. •To promote careers in the fishing industry. •To represent training issues affecting the fishing industry in political and trade arenas. •To collaborate with other bodies to improve safety at sea and address Health & Safety issues among fishermen. •Maintain links, contacts and working partnerships with other fisheries groups and institutions, processing and training organizations throughout the UK.
