Originally, starting in the late 1950’s, boating on the West Float Dock system was carried out mainly by the 14th Wallasey and 10th Wallasey Sea Scout Groups, and to a lesser extent by the 5th Wallasey Scout Group. These groups worked out of a ‘nissan’ hut situated on Canada Creek (which has now been filled in), holding once a month boating sessions, usually on a Sunday.
