Advanced Fire Fighting (A-VI/3)

Course content:

You will study:

Use of extinguishers, hoses and nozzles

Breathing apparatus training

Fixed fire extinguishing systems

Fire party organisation

Command & control

Equipment required - overalls, old clothing, soap and towel.

Entry requirements:

STCW Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting Certificate or MNTB Basic Fire Fighting Certificate or proof of equivalent (including Breathing Apparatus Training).

Qualifications achieved:

STCW 95 Training in Advanced Fire-Fighting

Progression opportunities:

Required under STCW’95 for Merchant Navy Officers and other key personnel who may have to supervise fire parties and control fire fighting operations. This is also a pre-requisite to a first Certificate of Competency.
