Crisis Management & Human Behaviour

The duration of the training will depend upon the background and prior experience of the individuals undergoing training. However, where those undergoing training have relevant prior experience and hold deck or engineer officer certificates of competency, it is unlikely that the stated objectives can be achieved in less than 7 hours instruction. Additional instruction and practical training may be needed for other personnel in order to ensure that the desired standard of competence is achieved.

Course pre-requisites

Those undertaking this training must have completed familiarisation training, appropriate to their capacity, duties and responsibilities, in accordance with paragraph 2 of Section A-V/2 of the STCW Code. Where appropriate, the familiarisation training may be provided in conjunction with approved training in crisis management and human behaviour.
