G.U.E.S.T Yacht Interior Introduction (unit 01)

This course is an internationally recognised Professional Superyacht Interior Crew Course, which delivers everything that you need to work as a Steward or Stewardess on Superyachts and will equip you well to obtain a job in the industry. Captains expect strong hospitality skills and a solid knowledge of the areas of interior domain on Superyachts – it’s quite different to land-based hospitality! We have concentrated on delivering this to our students. This course complies with the PYA’s Guidelines for Unified Excellence Service Training (G.U.E.S.T.) which has been created for the Superyacht industry by the Superyacht industry.

DAY Content

1 Superyacht Crew professional induction training = how to get a job on a Superyacht!!

2 Housekeeping: products, methods, regime, ‘Interior’ domains

3 Floristry, Theory and practical Laundry, Extended Induction:

4 Service 1: Formal & Silver Service including meal-service “rehearsal”. Late afternoon includes a “hands on” Cocktails Skills (Theory & practical)

5 Service 2 – Cheese, Caviar, Cigars, Formal Afternoon Tea Service, Wine Appreciation & Tasting, All include practical sessions

Useful Information

Course location is at Jones Bay Wharf, Pyrmont, which is not far from Darling Harbour and you can use the Light Rail to get to “The Star” casino which is very close by. The area has the full range of accommodation so there are plenty of hotels and hostels to choose from! Occasionally some of the training is in Castlecrag, just north of the bridge. All location details supplied.
