ICC International Certificate of Competence

Likely participants:

Skippers interested in using their boat or chartering abroad where proof of competence is required. Visit the RYA website for information on individual countries.

An ICC for powerboats or motor cruisers up to 24m can be obtained in a variety of ways:

Direct Assessment:

If you possess the relevant boat handling skills and theoretical knowledge you can apply to Duck-2-Water to take an a direct assessment ICC test. If you pass the ICC exam then Duck-2-Water will complete a form for you to send to the RYA for your ICC certificate.

The ICC Direct Assessment is up to one day in duration.

The International Certificate of Competence Direct Assessment and Courses are held at Ocean Quay Marina, near Ocean Village Marina, Southampton, Hampshire UK and in the Solent area.

Own Boat Tuition can be conducted in Southampton, Hampshire, Hamble, Portsmouth, Lymington, Chichester, Cowes, Poole, Isle of Wight, or anywhere on the South Coast, else where in the UK or in Europe

Day Skipper Practical:

You can attend a Day Skipper Practical Course with Duck-2-Water. At the succesful completion of the Day Skipper course you will be issued both a Day Skipper Practical Certificate and an ICC application form for you to send to the RYA who issue you with your International Certificate of Competency.

The Day Skipper practical Courses / International Certificate of Competency courses are held at Ocean Village Marina, Southampton, Hampshire UK and in the Solent area.
