To give all persons going to sea the essential basic knowledge of survival equipment, survival principles and techniques that can be applied in the event of a marine casualty.

Pre-course experience / requirements

Please be advised of the following conditions required to attend and be assessed for STCW95 certification:

Medically fit to undertake the practical exercises on the course

Prepared to enter the water from a height* (minimum of 3 times)

*Participation in the wet drill, specifically entry into water from a height, will not be obligatory for persons who produce a medical certificate to the effect that they ought not take part (course attendance certificate will be endorsed accordingly). Such persons may be required to obtain a certificate of medical fitness before being allowed to serve at sea.
