RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Theory

This is a course for more experienced skippers which takes them up to the theory knowledge required for Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Practical Examination.

Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Theory, adult course

Suggested minimum pre-course experience:

Knowledge equivalent to the Day Skipper Theory course

Assumed Knowledge:

Navigation to Day Skipper Theory standard and some practical experience

Course Content:

Navigation, meteorology, collision avoidance, safety and passage planning. (Please note you will need to provide your own course plotter and dividers)

Ability After Course:

Understands the principles of navigating for coastal and offshore passages.

Minimum Duration:

40 hours and 3 exam papers

Scheduled courses are held at Southampton, Hampshire UK and in the Solent area.
