RYA Coastal Skipper

This course takes the experienced Day Skipper and introduces skills suitable for longer passage by both day and night. Pilotage at night and in restricted visibility are included together with advanced chartwork/tidal issues and electronic navigation techniques.

You will take full charge of the yacht, under the watchful eye of the instructor, planning and executing your passage plan. Your abilities to manoeuvre under both sail and power will be further stretched in a variety of challenging situations, all of which will be subject to a plan/execute/debrief formula

Useful Information

The level of previous experience recommended is

•15 day aboard with 2 as skipper

•300 logged miles

•8 night hours

•A knowledge of navigation equivalent to RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster level

Coastal Skipper 5 days Monday to Friday – cost £450

Coastal Skipper 2 weekend of 3 and 2 days – cost £450

Coastal Skipper 5 days over a Bank Holiday weekend – cost £450
