RYA Cruising Instructor

Calling all budding instructors

The Cruising Instructor course is aimed at those looking to begin teaching the RYA courses including Competent Crew and Day Skipper practical courses. This five day programme is a great learning experience designed to teach you the skills needed to run a well-structured course.

Over the week you will receive in-depth tuition including one day of assessment. The syllabus includes:

•Instructional Techniques:

•Course and Lesson planning

•Briefing and debriefing skills

•Safety

•Personal skills

Applicants must have a valid commercially endorsed RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence and must be proficient in diesel engine maintenance, radar and boat handling skills. On reaching Instructor standard you will be awarded your RYA Cruising Instructor endorsement which is valid for 5 years and allows you to teach RYA Competent Crew and Day Skipper Practical Courses at any RYA Training Centre.
