RYA Day Skipper

The Day Skipper practical course gives you a chance to take charge on short passages under instruction with plenty of advice and help from the instructor. It has been designed for tidal waters.

RYA Motor Cruising, Adult Course

The scheduled day skipper practical courses are held at Ocean Quay Marina, near Ocean Village Marina, Southampton, Hampshire UK and in the Solent area.

Own Boat Tuition Day Skipper practical courses can be conducted in Southampton, Hampshire, Hamble, Portsmouth, Lymington, Chichester, Cowes, Poole, Isle of Wight, or anywhere on the South Coast, else where in the UK or in Europe.

Suggested minimum pre-course experience:

2 days on a motor cruiser.

Assumed Knowledge:

Basic navigation and helmsmanship.

Course Content:

Pilotage, boat handling, seamanship and navigation.

Ability After Course:

Can skipper a motor cruiser in familiar waters by day.

Minimum Duration:

4 days or 2 weekends
