RYA Diesel Engine Course

The most common reason for lifeboat launches to sailing and motor vessels is machinery failure. Don’t be a lifeboat statistic - attend a one day RYA Diesel Engine course. No mechanical knowledge is required. This course teaches you to be more self-sufficient and covers a basic understanding of how the diesel engine runs and how to keep it working at sea.

The syllabus includes the principles of the diesel engine: the four stroke cycle; the fuel system; the cooling system; the air system; engine electrical systems; basic spares and tools; and basic winterising.

RYA course material in booklet form is provided and an RYA Certificate will be issued to successful candidates.
