RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship

This 3 day course is designed to Introduce a candidate to the Essential Navigation needed to enter the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or Coastal Shorebased Theory Course. MPT will introduce the concepts of navigation as well as the collision regulations, seamanship and general knowledge to a level expected to JOIN the Yachtmaster Course.

The Yachtmaster Course #300 is an advanced course and there is not time to cover all of the basics of navigation. To increase your likelihood of success, we recommend taking this pre course and to utilize the Complete Course DVD and Flash Cards available in the MPT Ships Store and pick up your study materials in advance.

This course can be taken at any point before taking the Yachtmaster Course to introduce the candidate to the essentials of navigation. There are no prerequisites to taking this course and it is recommended for all Deckhands and Watchstanding crew members, especially if they are planning to upgrade to a mate or master level in the future.
