RYA Level 1 (Start Sailing)

What is it?

Start to Sail Level 1 provides a short introduction to sailing for novices. By the end of this part of the course participants will have a basic understanding of boat handling techniques and background knowledge.

Who is it for?

Anyone over 16 who wants to learn how to sail. Please note that training is intended primarily for UTSC members but we welcome beginners from outside the club for a small additonal charge on our sailing courses;

How is the course structured?

Presentations, discussion and supervised tuition on the water.

Do I need to have any qualifications or experience to come on this course?

No, this course is for complete novices who want to sail. You should be able to swim.
