RYA Level 2 (dinghy)

During this RYA Basic Skills course, candidates will expand their existing knowledge of dinghy sailing. On completion of the course, participants are expected to be armed with the skills required to sail and make decisions in good conditions.

Course content will include:

· Rigging

· Launching

· Sailing in all directions

· Capsize recovery

· Essential safety knowledge

Waterproofs can be provided if needed and a personal floatation device will be supplied on the day.

What you need to bring

· Drysuit or wetsuit. A wetsuit can be supplied, however you will need to bring swimwear to wear underneath it

· Suitable clothing – warm clothes and waterproof footwear or footwear that you don’t mind getting wet

· Towel and a change of clothes

· Weather protection – hat and gloves (winter) or hat, sunglasses and sun cream (summer)

· Packed lunch

· Any medication you might require

Pre-requisites:

· The skills of Start Sailing or the completion of a Start Sailing course

· Minimum age 16
