RYA Level 3 (dinghy)

This course is a part of the RYA National Sailing Scheme, comprised of a series of two day courses that enable candidates to progress quickly from being a beginner in a controlled, safe and enjoyable environment.

The course content will include launching and recovery, revision of sailing techniques and manoeuvres and the development of these skills for more efficient sailing.

Course content will include:

· Rigging

· Launching

· Sailing in all directions

· Capsize recovery

· Essential safety knowledge

Waterproofs can be provided if needed and a personal floatation device will be supplied on the day.

What you need to bring

· Drysuit or wetsuit. A wetsuit can be supplied, however you will need to bring swimwear to wear underneath it

· Suitable clothing – warm clothes and waterproof footwear or footwear that you don’t mind getting wet

· Towel and a change of clothes

· Weather protection – hat and gloves (winter) or hat, sunglasses and sun cream (summer)

· Packed lunch

· Any medication you might require

Pre-requisites:

· To be at the standard of Basic skills or the completion of a Basic Skills course

· Over the age of 16
