RYA Personal Watercraft Proficiency (PWC)

The RYA Personal Watercraft (Jet Ski) Proficiency course is aimed at first time and experienced riders alike. Increasingly the certificate is required for launching in UK harbours; it may also be needed if you want to drive jet skis abroad. Many insurance companies insist upon it before they will insure you and some lower their premiums if you hold it. The course provides a good grounding in jet ski techniques.

Course Structure

This course takes place on our Seadoo Sparks. The day includes:

Controls

Launching

Close quarter handling

Lots of high speed handling

Capsize drill

Time trials

Safety

After care

Passage planning

Recovery

If you require the International European Licence (ICC), we can take care of that at the same time.

Useful Information

Pre Requisites:

Ability to swim at least 50m

Minimum age 12 (certificates for under 16s will be endorsed)

Reasonable physical fitness (this course is not suitable if you are pregnant or suffer from back problems. If you're in doubt, please consult your GP).
