RYA Powerboat Level 2

Sat 9th and Sun 10th April 2016, or Sat 14th and Sat 21st May 2018.

This course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat. This formal qualification is a requirement to drive a power boat at IBRSC.

The course will be an introduction to basic powerboat skills including launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard. The focus is on low speed close quarters handling, an introduction to driving at planing speed and collision avoidance. By the end of the course you will be a self-sufficient powerboater with awareness of your ability, limitations and those of the craft. You will be able to use a power boat at IBRSC.
