RYA Powerboat Level 2

A 2-day course providing hands on powerboat instruction plus classes in theoretical seamanship.

The course is intended to benefit those with no previous experience of handling a boat of any description, and will provide the candidate with the theoretical and practical know-how to safely take charge of a small planing craft in tidal conditions.

Course Structure

Included are basic handling skills, an introduction to chartwork, tides and weather conditions and basic safety knowledge. Practical skills including man overboard, anchoring, and low and high speed handling complete the training.

The course culminates in a short practical test together with an assessment of the candidate’s theoretical knowledge. Successful candidates will be issued with the RYA National Powerboat Level 2 Certificate.
