RYA Safety Boat

This course is for individuals or groups involved in sailing clubs and teaching establishments on inland waters. It covers the techniques used in powerboats to provide safety cover and assistance with race management. The course is held over two days and includes training demonstrations of how to effectively recover and tow capsized dinghies, rescue windsurfers, kayaks, canoes and stricken powerboats.

Theoretical topics include suitability of craft, safety guidelines, communication systems and considerations when rescuing other craft and personnel. You must hold the National Powerboat Certificate to take this course.
