If you have never sailed a yacht before but want to have a go, then Start Yachting is the course for you. This course teaches you the basics of sailing a cruising yacht, and counts as two days towards your Competent Crew course.
Course Structure
During the course you will learn the basic nautical terminology, how to steer the yacht and handle the sails. We also teach you how to tie knots, handle ropes and use the winches. You will learn how to be safe on board and use the correct safety equipment.
At the end of the course you will understand the basics of yachting and be awarded a certificate to put in your logbook. This is a great fun course and a fantastic way of seeing if sailing is for you. Bring the whole family along as there is no minimum age for Start Yachting.
