RYA VHF Marine Radio (SRC)

The SRC (Short Range Certificate) for marine radios is the minimum qualification required to control the operation of VHF/DSC Radio equipment carried in British flagged vessels.

This is a full day classrom covering all aspects of rules, regulations and practical use of radio operations using radio simulators. At the end of the day there is a short written and practical test. There is a Licence Fee of £60 payable to the RYA.

Total training time must be a minimum of 10 hours, but may include upt 3 hours of self-study prior to the classroom session using the G31 RYA VHF Handbook. Clear instruction will be given to ensure that students understand the correct level of knowledge required before the course date.

The course cost £80 per person plus MCA/RYA cost of £60 payable to the RYA for the Certificate fee.
