This radio operator qualification authorises the holder to operate a VHF radio fitted with Digital Selective Calling on board any British vessel which is voluntarily fitted with radio equipment.
The RYA VHF Short Range Certificate course has changed, in order for UK to come into line with (CEPT) European regulations.
From January 2014 this course can be carried out either online or in a classroom, followed by the examination.
