The course will cover topics raised in MS Accident and Reporting Investigation Regulations, MS & FV (Health & Safety at Work) Regulations and other appropriate regulations and conventions. In addition the course provides an introduction to the ISM Code and Risk Assessment.
Entry requirements:
12 months sea service; or appropriate sea service and knowledge of ships operations to give them sufficient knowledge and practical experience of merchant vessel operations to enable them to achieve the objectives of the training and be able, if required, to undertake the duties and responsibilities of an SSO on completion of the training.
