Are you ready to bring your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems to a busy family yacht? We’re searching for a skilled 2nd Engineer to play a vital role in the daily operations and maintenance of our vessel’s engineering department. Working closely with the Chief Engineer, you'll ensure everything runs like a well-oiled machine—literally!
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting the Chief Engineer in managing the engine room and all its operations.
- Keeping machinery and equipment in top-notch condition through proactive maintenance.
- Conducting planed preventative maintenance inspections to spot and fix mechanical issues before they become problems.
- Maintaining precise records of operations, repairs, and maintenance logs.
- Keeping up to date with IMO, MARPOL, Classification and Flag requirements and ensuring that ongoing compliance with safety and environmental regulations is met.
- Collaborating with the engineering team to tackle technical challenges with creative solutions.
- Leading by example during emergency drills and responding swiftly to real-life scenarios.
- Guiding and mentoring junior engineers to build a strong and cohesive team.
What We're Looking For:
- A valid 2nd Engineer license and a proven track record in a similar role or eager to step up
- Strong expertise in mechanical and electrical systems—you’re the go-to problem-solver!
- The ability to work independently and thrive without constant supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to handle unexpected challenges.
- The ability to perform under pressure and thrive in challenging environments.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to inspire and guide your team.
- A steadfast commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship.
- A degree in Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
- Tender ops knowledge and capable of manoeuvring and navigating tenders and chase boats during maintenance if required
