Summary
West Nautical is recruiting a Permanent 2nd Engineer for a 58m Diesel Electric Hybrid, San Lorenzo New Build that is due to launch in November/December 2024.
The build is in located in La Spezia, Italy and due to be operational at the end of March 2025. The Vessel will run in a Private Capacity for 1/2 years and thereafter the plan is to get the Vessel to Charter. The Summer will be a typical Med Season - St Tropez, Monaco, Sicily.
Construction and Propulsion – The Yacht is diesel electric; we have 5 x 425kW generator producing DC current, 2 battery rooms with a total of 1kW, Veth pod propulsion units
The Vessel is looking for a candidate who has a thorough understanding of the bridge and navigation systems, as well as knowledge of all safety procedures on board in case of an emergency. Being responsible for the crew means it’s very important for the Chief Officer to be of a calm nature and have the capacity to manage negative situations. Candidates who have a Trade background or Water Sports experience will be advantageous.
The 2nd Engineers responsibilities will be as follows:
- Working under the direction of the Chief Engineer
- Daily maintenance of all mechanical and electrical and electronic systems on board the yacht
- Troubleshooting any issues that may arise
- Maintenance of the yacht's main engines and engine room systems
- Monitoring engine, machinery, and equipment indicators when the yacht is underway
- Ensuring proper functioning of all toys and tenders
- Implementing good safety practices
- Maintaining inventory of all parts
- Cleanliness and maintenance in the engine room
- Providing assistance during shipyard periods

Shipyard Package: 5 000.00 Eur pm, 30 days paid Vacation, MLC Contract, Medical Insurance & 1X return Flight after Trial Period
Permanent Package: 6 000.00 Eur pm, 90 days paid Vacation, MLC Contract, Medical Insurance & 2X return Flight after Trial Period
