Summary
2016 Yachting Development 33mt full carbon performance sloop is looking for a Team, Captain and Chef.
Strictly private family use, 4 crew in total.
Maine /New England summers, Caribbean winter with a view to South Pacific cruising in 2026 or later.
Initially the Captain/Chef team will work rotationally with the existing Captain/Chef. This will transition to a close to full time or 80% full time role, where the existing Captain/Chef will pull back to a program oversight/relief role.
Profile:
Captain
- Performance sailing yacht boat-handling, seamanship, navigation, maritime rules and regs
- engineering and deck oversight
- shipyard project technical oversight with support from existing captain and engineer
- owner reporting and relationship management, cruise concierge
Chef/Admin
- planning and provisioning for all food and wine requirements
- oversight of all interior activities
- cooking for 4 crew and up to 8 guests
- monthly accounts and bookkeeping for vessel operations and yard periods with support from existing chef/admin when required
- project administration for yard periods with support from existing chef/admin when required.
Candidates:
- Mature, relevantly experienced, demonstrated longevity to programs and as a team
- Collaborative, good team leadership and vendor relationship management
- Strong documentation management – logs, inventories, procedure etc.
- Strong communication skills and ability to understand and deliver owners wishes and requirements
Captain:
- strong engineering skills
- strong sailing skills on larger performance sailboats
- excellent communicator both up and down reporting chain
- good fiscal management
Chef/Admin
- professional culinary accreditation
- good experience cooking at a high level in a broad range of cuisines
- flexible approach to culinary and dietary requirements
- basic ‘sommelier’ skills and wine pairing
- solid background in vessel interior management
- experience with accounting, project management reporting and Excel spreadsheet use
- good experience with large sailboat deck operations and watch standing
Initial start date to be determined with the actual Captain (March/April 2025 roughly)
Position initially open only in team with a Chef.
