A wonderful opportunity has become available for an experienced, hands on, trustworthy, energetic and self-directed Housekeeper to work for a family of 5 in their 6-bedroom family home in Kensington. Exceptionally organised and proactive, you will be joining a small household team so being a strong team player as well as being able to work independently is essential for this role.
Responsible for managing the smooth running of the household you’ll take the lead on maintaining the cleanliness of the entire home, from hands on cleaning, laundry, managing stock levels, to organising cleaning tasks between the team, overseeing contractors and coordinating deliveries. You will take pride in your work and ensure that all of these duties are completed to the highest standard, as well as managing all inventories.
The ideal candidate will be well-presented, professional and a great communicator who can take initiative and is great with time management. The family are ideally looking for candidates with prior experience within a similar role working in a private household or onboard a super yacht – proven longevity is essential.
Working 5 days a week with Wednesday and Thursday off, usual working hours will be 7am-6pm, Monday to Friday and 8:30am-7:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. The role is open to live-in or live-out candidates. Accommodation is offered within the home with its own entrance on the ground floor, this includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room and outdoor patio area.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
· Maintaining the home to the highest of standards on a daily basis
· Hands on cleaning and tidying of the home
· Laundering clothing, fine fabrics, linens etc.
· Ironing, pressing, folding, and appropriately hanging/storing all items
· Managing household inventories
· Liaising with contractors and ground staff to ensure the property is maintained at all times
· Reporting any household maintenance issues
· Front of house duties as required
· Ad-hoc duties as required
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
· Previous experience working in a private household or onboard a super yacht
· Meticulous and very high attention to detail
· Well-presented, polished, and positive ‘can-do’ attitude
· Excellent communication skills
· Longevity as demonstrated by previous employment
· Able to prioritise and multitask effectively
· Right to live and work in the UK
· Excellent checkable references
· Up-to-date DBS check
