Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a Temporary Deck/Carpenter for a 60m+ yacht
We are seeking a Deck Carpenter to join a great team for the remainder of their shipyard period, approximately 4 months.
This is a liveaboard role, with accommodation provided either onboard or in a crew housing.
We welcome applications from experienced carpenters as well as those new to the yachting industry who are eager to secure their first role onboard.
Essential Skills & Experience
Carpentry Expertise – Strong background in woodworking, including cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and composite materials.
Deck Repair & Maintenance – Experience working with teak decking, caulking, sanding, and varnishing a plus
Joinery & Finishing – Ability to fit and finish interior and exterior wooden structures with precision.
Use of Tools & Machinery – Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
Attention to Detail – High standard of workmanship to match the quality expected in the yachting industry.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Previous yacht/shipyard experience (not mandatory for green candidates).
Understanding of marine-grade materials and adhesives.
Basic knowledge of fiberglass, composites, or metalwork is a plus.
STCW (if planning to continue in the yachting industry).

Salary: competitive DOE
