Rotational 2nd Engineer – 63m Private Motor Yacht
A 63m Turkish-built private motor yacht is seeking an experienced 2nd Engineer to join a rotational 8:8 schedule, starting in early May. This is a busy program with an exciting off-the-beaten-path itinerary, heading to Alaska this summer. The vessel operates under the Isle of Man flag and requires a B1/B2 visa.
Position Overview:
- Role: 2nd Engineer
- Vessel: 63m Private MY
- Rotation: 8 weeks on / 8 weeks off (flexibility required)
- Itinerary: Alaska & remote destinations
- Flag: Isle of Man
- Salary: €6,500/month
- Start Date: Early May
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer with the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all mechanical and electrical systems
- Perform planned maintenance on main MTU engines, generators, watermakers, hydraulics, HVAC, and other onboard systems
- Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on auxiliary systems, including fuel, cooling, and sewage systems
- Monitor engine room operations, ensuring smooth performance and compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues as they arise
- Maintain accurate engine room logs and maintenance records
- Assist with dry dock and yard periods, including system overhauls and upgrades
- Uphold safety procedures and contribute to a positive team environment
Requirements:
- Y3 certification (or equivalent)
- Valid B1/B2 visa
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, busy program
- Proactive attitude, sense of humor, and strong teamwork skills
- Non-smoker (depending on vessel movements)
