Build & Refit
Build and refit jobs vary from yacht builders and joiners to 3D CAD technicians and concept designers, making this one of the most varied departments in the yacht sector. Build and refit jobs largely consist of shore based roles, however, maintenance and engineering teams will need to be onsite to repair and maintain the yachts before they set sail.
Jobs within the build and refit department encompass all elements of yacht design, building and maintenance including, technical controllers, 3D technicians, assemblers and fabricators, and marine electricians and plumbers. Upholsterers and interior designers also fall under this sector, as do procurement managers who make sure that the yacht has the right supplies on-board and naval architects who oversee the design, construction and repair of marine vessels.
Requirements
Depending on the role applied for will depend on the qualifications and requirements needed, but many of the roles require previous experience in the job and a working knowledge of the yacht industry.
