This is a ½ day course in which delegates will gain knowledge and understanding of the requirements set out in table A-VI/1-1 paragraph 2.1.4. of the STCW Code, which consists of theoretical sessions in the classroom, giving all persons intending to go to sea, a basic induction in safety procedures and accident prevention, and to familiarize them with the employment conditions and working environment on board merchant vessels

By the end of this training programme the delegate will:
•Comply with emergency procedures
•Take precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment
•Observe safe working practices
•Understand orders and be understood in relation to shipboard duties
•Contribute to effective human relationships on board ship
Prerequisites
•Delegates must be at least 16 years of age.
•Due to certain aspects of the course being physically demanding and potentially stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
