This one-day course in Sea Survival forms part of the mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers.
All commercial fishermen working aboard a vessel of any size are required to have attended an MCA Approved Basic Safety Training course in Sea Survival / Personal Survival Techniques.
Course Certification and Compliance:
Our course is fully approved by Seafish and the MCA and compliant with STCW 95 Ref. A-VI/1-1
Certificates are applicable to Merchant Navy (STCW’95) and the Commercial Fishing Industry.

Course Aim:
To improve the survival opportunities following accidental immersion in water or vessel abandonment according to the principles established in STCW convention.
By the end of the training participants will:
Understand the principles of sea survival
Understand the correct application and usage of sea
survival equipment
Be able to use sea survival equipment and apply practical survival skills.
Examination type:
There is a short multiple choice exam at the end of the course. All trainees need to complete the exercises in the pool to gain the certificate.
