RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Theory

The Coastal/Yachtmaster course is an advanced course in navigation & meteorology for those wishing to progress to the Coastal or Offshore Yachtmaster practical certificates. The course will give you the background knowledge to skipper a yacht on Coastal passages by day or night.

The course builds on the knowledge gained at Day Skipper level and, though it covers the same ground, what you had to be 'aware of' at DS level you have to know at Coastal/Yachtmaster level!

Useful Information

The reason being is that it gives you the theoretical knowledge to proceed to the Yachtmaster Coastal and Yachtmaster Offshore Practical Certificates. The latter can then be used as a basis to move on to obtain the 'Commercial Endorsement' which allows you to become a Charter Skipper.

Assumed pre-course knowledge and experience: Students should have Navigation skills to Day Skipper level & a Day Skipper Theory Certificate. If you lack the latter, we do accept students qualified by experience'. Please contact us for information.
